The revisionist theory of the “three worlds” has opened the doors for the open propagation of social chauvinism (socialist in words – chauvinist in deeds) and class collaboration, (renouncing of the class struggle) internationally, and the revisionists in the “Great Nations”, in the superpowers most specifically, are openly waving this white flag of treason.
The struggle in the international communist movement has unmasked the treachery of the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”. Led by the Party of Labor of Albania (P.L.A.) and the Communist Party of Brazil (Marxist-Leninist) (C.P.B. M-L), the Communist Party of Spain (Marxist-Leninist) (C.P.S. M-L), and all genuine communist parties and organizations who have entered into the struggle taking up the call, rallying firmly behind the one Marxist-Leninist banner, and drawing the line of demarcation, elucidating clearly the bankruptcy of the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”, its treachery to proletarian revolution, to the wars of national liberation, to the socialist motherlands, to the peace loving peoples of the world.
In the U.S.A. the revisionists and opportunists of all hues have further entrenched themselves, defending and propagating the revisionist theory of the “three worlds” unleashing the reactionary aspirations of their petti-bourgeois social basis, calling openly for the alliances with “their own” bourgeoisie, in the face of a threat of another imperialist war. The “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist,” (“C”P “M-L”), the August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” (A.T.M. “M-L”) are the main propagators and defenders of social chauvinism and class collaboration, in the U.S.A., in complete unity with grouplets like I Wor Kuen (I.W.K.), and police fronts like Workers Viewpoint Organization (W.V.C. ), Resistencia and Revolutionary Communist League “Marxist-Leninist-Mao Tse Tung Thought” (R.C.L. “M-L-MTTT”).
In the struggle to build the one Marxist-Leninist Party of the proletariat in the U.S. lines of demarcation have had to be consistently drawn between the genuine Marxist-Leninists and the opportunists, the revisionists who are out to build parties of peace, parties of the Second International type. Riddled with petti-bourgeois intellectuals, careerists, social chauvinists, class collaborators, social pacifists, loafers, conspirators, factionalists, provocateurs. Throughout the course of the struggle to hammer out the one Marxist-Leninist line and Program of action of our Party, we have had to demarcate ourselves from the opportunists who were clearly out for their own petti-bourgeois interest defending their petti-bourgeois “right” to privileges, and crumbs which the bourgeoisie throws them and which they compete over, grabbing all they can from the imperialist banquet table. These apologists of imperialism and social-imperialism have stood along side the bourgeoisie in every move that the bourgeoisie has made in their preparations for another imperialist war and the heightening menace of fascism.
The Revolutionary Union (R.U.) today known as the “Revolutionary Communist” Party (“R.C.”P), and the October League (O.L.), who today goes by the name “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” (“C.” P. “M-L”), have been and continue to be the main organizations of the petti-bourgeoisie apologizing for the bourgeoisie. During the time of the Watergate Scandal, which was one of many moves by the bourgeoisie in its preparation to launch another imperialist war and intensified campaign to institute fascism - both the “Revolutionary Communist” Party and “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” raised the slogan ”Throw the Bum Out”, “Dump the Bum”, both stood opposing not the bourgeoisie as a class, but “Nixon”. “Revolutionary Communist” Party claimed that Nixon’s removal would mean a change in “government”. Both the “Revolutionary Communist” Party and “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” stood with their own bourgeoisie, and aided the most terroristic elements of the bourgeoisie, the Rockefeller group of monopoly capitalist, to come in and run the state machinery directly. The campaign which the bourgeoisie has launched to discredit congress, the various scandals which “discredit” bourgeois politicians, is part of its preparations to institute fascism, one condition of which is to outlaw congress, by so doing dropping its “bourgeois democratic” mask, and unveiling its open terroristic dictatorship. The social fascist organizations in this country, “Revolutionary Communist” Party and “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist”, aid their own bourgeoisie in the war preparations and they actively pave the way for fascism. They do this by diverting the masses struggle, channelling it towards the reformist path of least resistance, raising the treacherous illusion that capitalism can be saved, or changed peacefully.
Where did they stand during the forced busing issue? Forced busing was further dividing the working class and oppressed masses, while whipping up and temporarily strengthening fascist groups like the Ku Klux Klan, the Nazi Party, John Birch Society, Minute Men, the basis of support for fascism, the organizations which might merge to form the one fascist Party led by the most terroristic elements of the bourgeoisie. Another condition which would indicate the institution of fascism, the liquidation of a two party system and the culminating of the most reactionary elements of the Democratic and Republican parties. August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” and the “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” supported the forced busing issue, “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” openly calling for the National Guard to implement, by force the busing plan. August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” calling for forced integration calling it a “justifiable reform”, when Comrade Lenin taught us that the unity of the peoples of the oppressed and oppressor nations must be voluntary unity.
Where have they stood with the bourgeois plan of Equal Rights Amendment (E.R.A.)? “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” and August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” have made it their basis for organizing the petti-bourgeois feminists, calling for a ”woman’s movement” which has been led by the bourgeoisie and petti-bourgeoisie, a movement of reformism and a basis to spread decadence and divide the proletariat along sex lines.
The continued application of their reformist program has led to the “anti-Bakke decision” coalitions and “mass” movements led by the combined efforts of all the revisionist parties and organizations in the U.S.A.
In order to salvage their petti-bourgeois positions in the universities, colleges, anti-poverty programs – the parties of the petti-bourgeoisie have gone all out against Bakke, organizing national demonstrations whipping up their petti-bourgeois followers, based in the “student” movement, the petti-bourgeois feminist movement, whipping up petti-bourgeois narrow nationalism to cover their social chauvinist, class collaborationist line, to negotiate with the bourgeoisie over some more crumbs to protect their privileges and nitches which they have carved up for themselves as heads of the “ethnic” studies programs. The masses involved in these struggles all of which are honest with the exception of a few, are railroaded into these “mass” movements and are leeched upon by these “leaders” who are out for more crumbs, more “rights”, more privileges from their own bourgeoisie.
So in May 1978, we witnessed open lip service to May Day, the international holiday of the working class, who rallies under the banner “Workers and Oppressed Peoples of the World Unite”, instead May Day was placed secondary – while they placed all their eggs into the reformist petti-bourgeois interest basket of “Smash the Bakke Decision”.
The naked opportunism of the petti-bourgeois revisionist parties, was once again made clear this May Day. They raise their social chauvinist, class collaborationist slogans “Jobs or Income Now”, for more deals, mare crumbs, exploiting the fact that unemployment is rampant as an inherent contradiction of capitalism, which causes bitter suffering and pain for the masses and which can not be changed except through proletarian revolution for fundamental change, our struggle today is for the seizure of state power, for the dictatorship of the proletariat, for socialism. That’s why the bourgeoisie benefits by having these petti-bourgeois apologists spreading poison in the ranks of the working class and all the toiling masses. That’s why it’s no accident that the social chauvinists and class collaborators have stood shoulder to shoulder with their own bourgeoisie, apologizing for them and trying to prolong a system which is decadent, moribund, parasitic and a bestial burden on the shoulders of the masses throughout the world.
In Bolshevik we analysed how the “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” would make August Twenty-ninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” an offer they would not refuse, and August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” upholding the same revisionist line as “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” would join the “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist”. Today this analysis derived from the fight for the one Marxist-Leninist line and Program of our Party is proven correct. Their basis of unity they proclaim is that they uphold the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”. The following example clearly elucidates the treason of the theory of the “three worlds” to the international proletariat, and the struggles for national liberation.
August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” has gone to the extent of defending the imperialist aggression in the Panama Canal. These thorough yellow-bellied cowards, social chauvinists make this call of treason and attack towards the international proletariat in general, and the Panamanian national liberation struggle in particular – we quote from Revolutionary Cause, organ of August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist”, Vol.2-No.7, Oct. 1977:
The treaty represents a step forward for the Panamanian people in struggle for complete control of the Canal. Ultimately, of course, they must have total sovereignty, free from all imperialist control. The U.S. working class must support the Panamanian people in that noble struggle.
This is outright treason. The fact is that the Panama Canal Treaty tightens the reins of imperialist control and domination, forceful domination, over the masses. The suffering and exploitation which the Panamanian masses have been subjected to historically has not changed in the least, in fact life for the masses has worsened. It is not a question of “ultimately of course they must have total sovereignty.” These are the words of social chauvinists, of cowards, of apologists for U.S. imperialism, Soviet social-imperialism and all reactionary elements like Torillos, the representative of U.S. imperialism, the comprador bourgeois element in Panama. In fact the U.S. proletariat must render absolute support, up to and including material support to the national liberation struggle. We stand in principle for the right of nations to self-determination up to and including political secession. We demand the U.S. imperialists out of the Panama Canal – we stand resolutely with the Panamanian proletariat and oppressed masses, for complete national and social liberation. The proletariat led by its Marxist-Leninist Party must and will hold high the banner of proletarian internationalism.
The social chauvinists of August Twentyninth Movement ’“Marxist-Leninist” come out with their treason openly naked. They propagate this social chauvinist poison in speaking of the treaty:
It still allows the U.S. control over a considerable portion of the Canal territory and Canal operations for quite some time. But in historical terms that time will be relatively short – 23 years. ibid.
To the petti-bourgeois intellectuals, social chauvinists of August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist”, 23 years of exploitation and oppression is “relatively short”. They plan to prop up imperialism for another 23 years! One day of oppression and exploitation is too many. The brutal assassinations of revolutionary leaders, the massacres of the masses, tyranny and brutal exploitation day by day of the Panamanian proletariat, of the peasantry, of the toiling masses as a whole, at the hands of the U.S. imperialists and their lackeys, is here justified. Already 74 years of U.S. imperialist plunder and exploitation and a call of surrendering the struggle for 23 years more is openly made, defending the “right” of their bourgeoisie to plunder – to rape, exploit the colonies and neo-colonies – social chauvinist dogs!
These are the enemies of the working class, and all class conscious workers must resolutely oppose the propagation and spreading of this poison in the ranks of the working class. The social chauvinists must be exposed, isolated, and run out of the ranks of the working class and wherever they pop their ugly heads among the struggles of the oppressed masses. The theoreticians of the theory of the “three worlds” all stand together with this treason to the international proletariat. In their scheme of things they openly proclaim their “support” of U.S. imperialism and so-called ’opposition’ to Soviet social-imperialism, when in fact the two superpowers to the same degree and same extent are the source of another imperialist war, and constitute the main threat to the well being of the peoples of the world.
In fact the openly naked ugliness of the propagation of social chauvinism which we have above exposed flows directly from the revisionist social chauvinist theory of the “three worlds”, which brings in comprador bourgeois elements like Torillos, making them appear to be a “progressive” force. This bankruptcy of lumping reactionary elements with the revolutionary struggles of the international proletariat and oppressed masses, in fact is a scheme to have these elements in the “leadership” diverting the revolution, which indeed strangles the revolution, and leads the masses to slaughter, defending the “right” of the imperialists and social imperialists to tighten the reins of exploitation and oppression on the colonies and neo-colonies.
Capitulation open, naked, disgusting capitulation and the renegades of August Twentyninth Movement “M-L” are not alone in this treason. Comrade Lenin, our beloved teacher taught us this about social chauvinism:
In practice the social chauvinists conduct an anti-proletarian bourgeois policy, because they insist not on the “defense of the fatherland” in the sense of fighting against the oppression of a foreign nation, but upon the “right” of one or the other of the “great” nations to rob the colonies and oppress other peoples. (V.I. Lenin, Socialism and War – Chapter 1 from Lenin – The Imperialist War)
Further Comrade Lenin taught us:
We demand from our governments that they quit the colonies, or, to put it in precise political terms rather than in agitational outcries – that they grant the colonies full freedom of secession, the genuine right to self determination, and we ourselves are sure to implement this right, and grant this freedom, as soon as we capture power. We demand this from existing governments, and will do this when we are the government, not in order to “recommend” secession, but, on the contrary, in order to facilitate the democratic association and merging of nations. (V.I. Lenin, A Caricature of Marxism)
Comrade Lenin armed us with this understanding that we could apply his teaching and expose the treachery exhibited in the pages of Revolutionary Cause and all the revisionists who propagate this treason.
Here again August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” defends the “right” of the U.S. imperialists to rob the colonies and neo-colonies. In speaking of the contention between the superpowers, the U.S. and U.S.S.R., the social chauvinists of August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” have this to say:
...rivalry with its social imperialist rival (the U.S.S.R.) has forced the U.S. to take another look at its relations with Panama and to compromise its “right” to control the Canal.
Is it correct for the government of Panama to exploit these contradictions to its advantage – to secure the New Treaty from the U.S.? Yes it is. pg. 4 ibid.
The Panamanian “government” is a neo-colonial government, puppet regime of U.S. imperialism – here to cover up social chauvinism, naked, ugly, disgusting social chauvinism, they try to deceive the masses by presenting the neo-colonial government of the Panama Canal as an independent “power” of the “third world”. This reveals more of the social chauvinist essence of the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”. They present the Panamanian government as “independent” to cover up that what the August Twentyninth Movement “Marxist-Leninist” is defending is the “right” of the U.S. imperialists, as opposed to the equally barbarous social-imperialists, to oppress the people of the colonies and neo-colonies.
The working class does make use of the inter-imperialist contradictions as long as it benefits the revolution, but here neither is the Panamanian colonial puppet regime the proletariat, and clearly the treaty stands in opposition to the revolution. In fact it is geared to extinguish the flames of struggle, the torch of revolution, to suppress the revolution, to liquidate the revolutionary leadership of the struggle, to try and delay the inevitable conquest of power by the Panamanian proletariat led by its Marxist-Leninist Party in alliance with the peasantry, the youth, women, all the toiling masses, the truly anti-imperialist forces in Panama, with such true friends as the proletariat in the socialist countries, the national liberation struggles in the colonies and neo-colonies, and the proletariat of the neighboring capitalist countries, The U.S. working class has a particular responsibility to overthrow our “own” bourgeoisie in the interest of aiding the revolution in all countries, and specifically rendering absolute support including material support to the colonies and neo-colonies, under the direct domination of U.S. imperialism, always standing resolutely opposed to imperialism, social-imperialism and all reaction, exposing and combatting the hegemonic plans of the superpowers, their preparations to launch another imperialist war, to re-divide the world amongst themselves, and in this eventuality we must prepare to turn the imperialist war into a civil war as Comrade Lenin taught us.
The revisionist, social chauvinist, class collaborators within the U.S. have a long history of treachery. The old revisionists, the “Communist Party” U.S.A. has given birth to a flock of new revisionists who have under new covers been propagating much of the same old treason, now justified by the theoretical bankruptcy, the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”. In the U.S.A. these new revisionists came out of the struggle against the old revisionists of the “Communist Party” U.S.A. The very same ones who supposedly stood in opposition to the revisionist betrayal of the “Communist Party” U.S.A. during the Sino-Soviet split, are the same petti-bourgeois careerists who were in the leadership of Students for a Democratic Society (S.D.S.), like Michael Klonsky now the chairman of the revisionist “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist”, party of the petti-bourgeoisie.
Petti-bourgeois intellectuals of the worst type, sons of judges, like Bob Avakian, now the Chairman of “Revolutionary Communist” Party, demagogues and charlatans who were out to compete for top hegemone positions within the ranks of the one time Anti-Revisionist Communist Movement within the U.S.A. Both set up their own organizations because both were out for a chairmanship position. Their corruptive influence held back the struggle for the Party for many years. The revisionist line which they have represented historically has caused great harm on the one hand, but the struggle against it has advanced the struggle for the Party of a new type, the Party of Lenin and Stalin, the struggle for the one Marxist-Leninist line and Program of Action fought for by the Leninist Core to found the U.S. Bolshevik Party.
In this struggle we have been and continue to gather the best sons and daughters of the working class who stand up and say “how beautiful it is to fight for our cause and know that we will be triumphant in the end even if we don’t see it with our own individual eyes”. How truly inspiring to know that the advanced workers are evermore resolutely coming forward and taking matters into their own hands, building their Party to completion in spite of the objections of the petti-bourgeois intellectuals who have stood in opposition denying the existence of the advanced workers, which as Comrade Lenin taught us every working class movement brings to the fore. While attempting to keep the class conscious proletarians scattered, out of their rightful posts as leaders of our Party at every level, the petti-bourgeois intellectuals at the service of the bourgeoisie have intensified the spreading of ideological poison. Open propagation of social chauvinism at a time when the imperialists and social-imperialists are preparing to enter into another imperialist war, propagation of class collaboration when the menace of fascism is hanging over the heads of the masses like a dark cloud, is in fact the outcome of historical treason to the proletariat and its Marxist-Leninist Party, treason to proletarian revolution, and the petti-bourgeoisie has been and is the social basis within the struggle for the Party for this treason.
The revisionists in the U.S.A. have historically distorted the principal contradiction, the contradiction between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. In fact at one time the entire Anti-Revisionist Communist Movement was under the influence of the revisionist line which distorted the principal contradiction as a contradiction between “the bourgeoisie and the oppressed Afro-American nation and all the nationally oppressed”, therefore renouncing the class struggle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie, propagating class collaboration.
This revisionist line served to undermine the vanguard role of the proletariat in the revolution, undermined the stage of the revolution we’re in, that is to say, the struggle for the seizure of state power by the proletariat who, led by its Party, will lead the masses towards the new socialist order under the dictatorship of the proletariat, for fundamental change, instead the revisionist call for travel on the path of least resistance introducing a program of reforms for “democratic rights” and divert the struggle towards “budget cut” coalitions, “fight back” committees, “jobs or income now” campaigns, never raising the political consciousness of the working class but in fact calling for negotiations with the bourgeoisie for crumbs derived from the superprofits, for accepting “bribes” and “privileges” on the backs of the masses deprived, exploited and oppressed, from the superprofits of the imperialists who rob the colonies and neo-colonies. And so they wind up defending the “right” of their own bourgeoisie to plunder and rape the colonies and neo-colonies – here in lies the economic basis of social-chauvinism as comrade Lenin taught us.
In complete harmony with the authors of the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”, the revisionist parties in the U.S.A. deny the existence of the four fundamental contradictions internationally as elaborated by Comrades Lenin and Stalin, which is the basis upon which to derive at the correct strategy and tactics for proletarian revolution defended by Comrade Enver Hoxha, the Party of Labor of Albania, and all genuine Marxist-Leninist Parties and organizations today.
This is how the revisionist parties in the U.S.A. deny the unrefutable fact that the world today is divided into two social systems-socialist and capitalist. Instead the revisionists parrot the revisionist theory of the “three worlds” which distorts the world situation and the era which we live in, the era of Leninism, the era of socialist revolution. By saying that the world is divided into “three worlds” – highly developed, developed and under developed – under “highly developed” – the superpowers, under “developed” the other imperialist capitalist countries of the “Second World”, and under the category of “under-developed” the “Third World” colonies and neo-colonies and socialist countries are lumped together. Social systems are therefore liquidated. The socialist fortresses are presented as inferior or “under-developed” when indeed socialism is a far superior social system to capitalism, it is a qualitative leap forward in the wheels of history and the first phase of communism; in socialist society the proletariat is in power, not the bourgeoisie, the means of production are socially owned and not privately owned, production is based on the needs of the masses and not for profit, bourgeois right still exists from the old capitalist society but is restricted, and the proletariat in power organized as the ruling class, led by its Marxist-Leninist Party consolidates the dictatorship of the proletariat and represses its enemies, internal and external, the proletariat wages a struggle to re-educate the masses, in the spirit of Proletarian Internationalism educated in the science of proletarian revolution – Marxism-Leninism – the socialist state serves as a fortress of the proletarian revolution in the forefront of the struggle against imperialism, social-imperialism and all reaction, defending the lofty aspirations of the peace loving peoples of the world, and giving concrete direction and aide to the revolutionary struggles of the masses.
The lives of the masses change fundamentally under socialism, there is no unemployment, in fact every able being is guaranteed work, there is no time for idleness, which results in hardship, frustrations of need and want, and in instances of desperation can lead to petty crimes. While under capitalism there is a reserve army of the unemployed, an inherent contradiction under capitalism. But the revisionists in the U.S. call for “jobs or income now”, covering up that unemployment is an inherent contradiction under capitalism, their program of reforms, and negotiations with the bourgeoisie, stems from trying to save capitalism, rather than utilizing the fact that the bourgeoisie is in trouble, that the crisis is a general political, economic, cultural and military crisis, the general crisis of imperialism and testimony of the fact that imperialism as a world-wide system is on the downfall, and we must utilize these conditions favorable to the proletariat in the capitalist countries to organize the class struggle of the proletariat for the seizure of state power, indeed this is the essence of the Program of the Party of the proletariat, as opposed to the reformist program of the petti-bourgeois revisionist parties like “Revolutionary Communist” Party and “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist”.
We can and must organize the proletariat and the oppressed masses to stop the imperialist and social-imperialist preparations for another imperialist world war. We can and must organize the proletariat and oppressed masses against the threat of fascism through organizing the struggle for the seizure of state power by the proletariat. But the authors and parrots of the revisionist theory of the “three worlds” propose that another world war is inevitable, in fact “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” had a headline in its ragsheet The Call to this effect. By spreading pessimism and demoralization, by unleashing a campaign of hysteria, the revisionist parties in the U.S.A. in unison with modern revisionism internationally strengthen the war preparations and then make a call to the international proletariat and oppressed masses to surrender the revolution and ally themselves with the U.S. imperialists against the Soviet social-imperialists, the supposed “more aggressive” superpower.
The social chauvinist cowards are so preoccupied by who will attack first they forget that who attacks first is insignificant, what we must be clear on is the character of the war. “War is the continuation of politics” teaches us Marxism-Leninism, the character of an imperialist war is reactionary and must be opposed – it is the continuation of the politics of subjugation of the vast majority of the peoples of the world in the colonies, neo-colonies and dependent countries by a handful of the “civilized” “great” powers. The essence of the imperialist war is the redivision of the world amongst themselves. The imperialists and all reactionaries, no matter how small their country, enter into the war to share in the spoils, Comrade Lenin teaches us:
The socialist, the revolutionary argues differently. He says: ’The character of the war (whether it is reactionary or revolutionary) does not (our emp. ed.) depend on who the attacker was or in whose country the ’enemy’ is stationed; it depends on what class is waging the war, and of what politics this war is a continuation. If the war is a reactionary, imperialist war, that is, if it is being waged by two world groups of the imperialist, rapacious, predatory bourgeoisie, then every bourgeoisie (even of the smallest country) becomes a participant in the plunder, and my duty as a representative of the revolutionary proletariat is to prepare for the world proletarian revolution as the only escape from the horrors of a world war. (Lenin – Proletarian Revolution and the Renegade Kautsky)
How does the philistine renegade Michael Klonsky argue:
The Soviet Union is the most dangerous because it is a superpower on the rise, while the U.S. is on the decline.
The renegade Klonsky answers this when asked what does getting “prepared for war entail”?:
We must expose the Soviet Union as the main aggressor and the most dangerous and take on our special responsibility of opposing our own imperialism. (Renegade Klonsky – Interview with the Call, August, 1976)
But Comrade Lenin taught us our duty as representatives of the revolutionary proletariat is to prepare for the world proletarian revolution as the only escape from the horrors of a world war. The renegade Klonsky prepares his case to defend their own bourgeoisie under the covers of opposing their “own imperialism” when he says:
The war and the danger of war is bound to heighten all of the basic contradictions in our society and provide an opportunity (our emp.) for winning large numbers of the working and oppressed people to revolutionary struggle. ibid.
Only a renegade of the Michael Klonsky type can argue in such a social chauvinist, social fascist, social pacifist manner. Aiding their own bourgeoisie in preparations for another imperialist war which they claim is inevitable because it gives them an “opportunity” to win large “numbers of working and oppressed people to revolutionary struggle”. These are the words of a traitor; openly calling for an imperialist war, openly paving the way for slaughter and the horrors of war, paving the way for fascism, openly calling for open terroristic dictatorship as a “way to heighten the basic contradictions.” Comrade Lenin taught us that all the objective conditions in capitalist society are ripe for the immediate seizure of state power by the proletariat, in fact he said, proletarian revolution is on the order of the day, what .is lagging behind is the subjective factor the preparedness of the proletariat, the development and consolidation of its Marxist-Leninist Party, to lead the proletariat to overthrow the bourgeoisie by force and establish the dictatorship of the proletariat. Proletarian revolution on a world wide scale is the only way out of the horrors of another imperialist war.
The renegade Klonsky never once even gives lip service to proletarian revolution, he speaks of revolutionary struggle” in general and consistently omits proletarian revolution for the seizure of state power by force, by violent means, through smashing the bourgeois state apparatus for the conquest of political power by the proletariat, proletarian revolution as the only way out of the general crisis, as the way out of the threat of an imperialist war, as a way out of the horrors of an imperialist war, in the eventuality that it may break out turning it into civil war. This is hat preparing against the threat of another imperialist war means, this is what being a proletarian internationalist means.
Klonsky the thorough philistine, social chauvinist, although fearful of an imperialist war is even more fearful of proletarian revolution and so has gone completely over to the side of the bourgeoisie, and is a leading demagogue for the revisionist theory of the ’three worlds’” in the U.S.A. Nothing else but the nakedly social chauvinist positions argued for by all the top revisionist dogs in the U.S. could flow from the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”.
The renegade Klonsky argues like all social chauvinists - he says in regard to the proletariat of the capitalist countries of the “second world”:
In the second world countries, we must give resolute support to the working class in its struggle, not only to defend the national interest of their country, but also to overthrow their capitalist governments and build socialism.
There is no “national interest” for the proletariat of a capitalist country. Karl Marx taught us this proletarian internationalist principle, that:
The working men have no country. We cannot take from them what they have not got. (Communist Manifesto)
But the social chauvinist Michael Klonsky reveals “C”P. “M-L”’s blatant treachery, calling for defense of “national interest” is a call for the proletariat in Japan or Canada or France or Germany, which the theoreticians of the “three worlds” propagate is the “second world” to defend the “national interest” of their own bourgeoisie. This is the open propagation of class collaboration, attempting to strike an open alliance between the proletariat of the capitalist countries and imperialism, social-imperialism, and all reaction. Here in fact is revealed how the contradiction between labor and capital in the capitalist countries is totally liquidated, and why the revisionists have historically distorted the principal contradiction in the capitalist countries. By liquidating the contradiction between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie, the revisionists and opportunist of all hues can make all sorts of deals with the bourgeoisie, prop themselves up into union “leadership” positions, defend their “rights” to privileges, accept bribes and renounce the class struggle. Class struggle is in fact the motive force which moves history forward.
Class collaboration, capitulation, renouncing the class struggle, is the outcome of denying the fact that the principal contradiction lies between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. This contradiction is an antagonistic contradiction, one which must be resolved by revolutionary means, by means of force. The bourgeoisie will not give it up, the proletariat must seize state power, must rise in armed insurrection and crush the resistance of the bourgeoisie. The bourgeoisie as a class is the target of the revolution, must be overthrown, and the proletariat led by its Party, its one Marxist-Leninist Party will lead the masses out of misery, deprivation, want and need. The masses are the makers of history, and together will rise against exploitation and oppression, and change the existing order of things for a new social order - for socialism. The Party makes the masses conscious and leads the fight against all the enemies of the working class. The Party arms the masses to be able to distinguish between friends and enemies. In order that the Party itself remains loyal to Marxism-Leninism, to the mighty cause of the working class, it must purge its ranks of all opportunists, careerists (those who call themselves revolutionaries but in deed are corrupt elements seeking position, lime-light and fame), loafers, conspirators, provocateurs, factionalist who weaken the fighting capacity of the Party by introducing another platform, a bourgeois line, and organizing other hidden scabs in the Party through the undermining of the unities of the Party, the undermining of its discipline, the undermining of its leadership, with the purpose of overthrowing its Marxist-Leninist line. The! opportunists, the revisionists open the doors of the Party to spies, to provocateurs of the bourgeoisie, it is the opportunist who cause waverings in the ranks when decisions of life or death for our Party are being hashed out, and resolutely decided; it is in these crucial times when the enemy is preparing to deliver a blow to crush our developing Party that the opportunists come up to hide, to conceal, to protect the enemies and provide them with justifications for their actions. These very elements who stand in the same line of treason as the renegades Michael Klonsky, Bob Avakian, the parrots of the bankrupt revisionist theory of the “three worlds” have been doing their outmost to discredit our struggle, to discredit our leadership, sabotaging our work, severing the ties with the masses, hiding from the masses our goals, our aims. Comrade Lenin taught us:
It is impossible to carry out the tasks of socialism at the present time, it is impossible to accomplish a really international unification of the workers without radically breaking with opportunism and without making clear to the masses the inevitability of its fiasco.
With this aim we must intensify the struggle against social chauvinism and class collaboration and against the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”, we must raise the consciousness of the masses as to dangers and “fiascos” which will result from following behind such treachery. A thorough break with opportunism^ purification of the ranks, a thorough cleansing of the ranks is a precondition to strengthening the fighting capacity of the working class, and oppose the imperialist war preparations, by preparing the struggle for the seizure of state power by the proletariat. Our Party has been growing stronger in the struggle against opportunism, the Leninist Core to found the U.S. Bolshevik Party has stood alone going against the tide of reaction in the U.S., overcoming obstacles and cleansing its ranks of all the opportunist pollution which would have had us surrender the struggle for proletarian revolution, and embark on the road of reforms, of treason to our class. The Leninist Core in so defending Marxism-Leninism and waging a fight, a tit-for-tat struggle against opportunism, has been consistently loyal to Marxism-Leninism and stands united to the fraternal parties of the international communist movement, leading the proletariat under the one banner of Marxism-Leninism in every country, for the complete overthrow of the bourgeoisie within each country. The Leninist Core to found the U.S. Bolshevik Party, recognizes no other leading center internationally but the Party of Labor of Albania, which has stood consistently loyal to the lofty principles of Marxism-Leninism, a true defender of the teachings of our beloved teachers Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin. With Comrade Enver Hoxha as its leader, the Party of Labor of Albania has led the heroic Albanian proletariat and masses of Albanian peoples in building socialism, consolidating the dictatorship of the proletariat, and guiding the international communist movement along the correct revolutionary path. The Party of Labor of Albania has led the unfolding of the polemics against the revisionist theory of the “three worlds” and has stood as a mighty fortress of the international proletariat in defending the purity and authenticity of Marxism-Leninism against modern revisionism, spearheaded at Soviet social-imperialism, Yugoslav revisionism, revisionism internationally as the main danger the people of the world face.
This May Day 1978 we salute our beloved comrades of the Party of Labor of Albania, the Peoples Socialist Republic of Albania, and we extend our revolutionary greetings to our beloved Comrade Enver Hoxha, wishing him a long life of continued struggle so that he may continue to guide us in our determined struggle against imperialism, social-imperialisms revisionism and all reaction. We extend our revolutionary greetings in the spirit of proletarian internationalism to all the genuine communist parties that attended the internationalist rally in Rome, we stand united by intensifying the struggle against our own bourgeoisie, to overthrow capitalism and establish the dictatorship of the proletariat to construct socialism.
We are eternally committed to build the U.S. Bolshevik Party, guarding the unity of our Party as “the apple of our eye” as Comrade Lenin taught us. In keeping with our responsibility to the international proletariat we have taken up the call in the Seventh Party Congress of the Party of Labor of Albania and of the internationalist rally in Rome, and have intensified the struggle against the revisionist theory of the “three worlds”. We are evermore certain and clearheaded as to its treachery. We are evermore committed to run out the social chauvinists, class collaborators, social fascists, social pacifists out of our ranks, and out of the working class movement. We have purged a faction which stood on this platform of treason and have intensified the ideological struggle to weed out the pernicious influence of the ideological poison which this faction has been spreading in the last one and a half years.
This faction which was organized by the hidden scabs on the Acting Central Committee, the renegades Richard and Mima Bertran, have caused great damage to our struggle for the Party. Undermining unities, distorting the directives of the Central Committee, spreading demoralization, promoting inactivity and passivity, liberalism, and a decadent lifestyle, fear of criticism and self-criticism, promoting an anti-Party spirit, wrecking, splitting, covering up the work of agent provocateurs and other opportunists in the ranks.
The renegades Richard and Michele (Mima) Bertran, stood on a platform of social chauvinism, of class collaboration^ defending the revisionist theory of the “three worlds” and propelling themselves with it more and more into the marsh of opportunism, until who we purged were through-going philistines of the Second International type. The renegade Bertran had been collaborating with the foremen and union bureaucrats in the plant where he was assigned by the Acting Central Committee to carry out Party activity, to organize the struggle of the workers, raise their consciousness and recruit the advanced workers into the Party by building the factory nuclei. Instead Bertran was spreading poison amongst the ranks of the workers. Spreading male chauvinism and engaging in decadent discussions, never raising struggle against pornographic pictures in the lockers, and boasting about how he was “boss” in his house. This conduct unfitting a communist flowed from a revisionist platform, a platform of class collaboration. In a struggle against unsafe conditions which a class brother raised, a brother amongst many who was spitting up blood from the continued dust in the air which the workers are forced to breathe, Bertran stood on the side lines, engaging in empty promises, “agreed” to sign a petition against the union ’leadership along with the class brother, but left him alone to fight the union president who proceeded to try to intimidate the worker into submission. Bertran tried to make a show, to hide his true face of shameless cowardice before the workers, and “asked” permission of the union “leader” to file a grievance.
This is indeed class collaboration in practice. Rather than take up the struggle in the forefront, expose the treachery of the union bureaucrats, lead the workers in this struggle, to break with the union “leadership” as the United Mine Workers have shown through shining example in heroic struggle, to run the union bureaucrats out of the unions, the renegade Bertran was covering up their treachery, negotiating with them, asking for permission to “sign a petition”, begging for recognition, in fact collaborating to save his own skin, and become a lackey himself, slipping over to the side of the bourgeoisie, and furthering his treason to the proletariat.
There is no middle road, either low-life living, serving the bourgeoisie, and thus betraying the mighty cause of the proletariat, or giving ones entire life to live and die serving the interest of the proletariat, fighting for socialism, for a new world, for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat as an instrument to end exploitation and oppression, resolutely fighting for the abolition of private property, for the elimination of classes and class society, fighting for the mighty cause of communism, for a classless society.
The revisionist theory of the “three worlds” is anti-Marxist-Leninist, and stands for the propping up of imperialism, social-imperialism and all reaction, that is why the practice of its adherents is clearly the practice of social props. Collaborating with the union “leaders”, collaborating with foremen who are part of the target of the revolution. The bourgeois managerial stratum, those who manage the affairs of the capitalist, the owners of the factories, plants, mines, land, fields, banks; the foremen, supervisors, managers, all stand with the bourgeoisie and carry out their policy of brutal exploitation and oppression. It is the foremen and floorladies who carry out the decisions of the bourgeoisie to fire workers if they refuse to work overtime, weekends, night shifts. It is the foremen, floorladies, plant supervisors, who are constantly harassing the workers, speeding up the lines in the name and for the maximum profits of the capitalist class. Foremen, floorladies, plant supervisors, managers are our enemies. But the social props, those who are pushing a line of capitulation, those who renounce the class struggle, and promote the policy of class collaboration, present foremen as an “ally” of the working class. The “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” sneaks in the managerial stratum as “allies” of the proletariat in this way:
Allies of the proletariat can also be found among the middle class, or petti-bourgeoisie. This class is made up of small proprietors, producers, artisans, professionals, large sections of the intelligensia, and most people in managerial or supervisory positions in production and administration. (our emp. ed.) (Documents from the founding Congress of the “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” Pg. 91)
Renouncing the class struggle leads to this treason. The bourgeois managerial stratum (foremen, floorladies, etc.) are not part of the petti-bourgeoisie but in fact part of the bourgeoisie and stand in direct opposition to the working class. Their relations to production are those to insure that profits at any cost, at the cost of the lives of class brothers and sisters is being secured for the capitalist class of leeches and murderers, on a world-wide scale.
The scoundrels which we have just thrown out of our ranks wouldn’t dare come out with their class collaborationist line as blatant as the “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” but would sneak in “some foremen are nice”, some ’union bureaucrats are O.K.”, “overtime is necessary because the workers need the money”, “the fight for our Party’s line and program brings down repression”, all intended to renounce the class struggle, to capitulate, to spread this ideological poisonous weed inside the ranks of the Leninist Core to found the U.S. Bolshevik Party, and try to introduce this revisionist mud to stain our Party’s Program of Action as we near in our first Party Congress.
Comrade workers, class brothers and sisters will certainly understand why we could not, did not, and must never compromise on questions of principle. To capitulate today because of some past comradeship to such treachery would be shameful and the death of our developing Party, and would allow the bourgeoisie to strangle the revolution. It would mean aiding the bourgeoisie in its preparations to launch another imperialist war of aggression, and heightening menace of fascism, it would lead to turning our backs on the international proletariat and oppressed masses, and becoming an instrument of reaction, a Party of peace of the Second International type, a Party of the renegade Kautsky type, of the Khrushchov, Josip Tito type, a Party of the Gus Hall, Michael Klonsky and Bob Avakian type. We will not give up a single inch in the ground gained in the struggle against opportunism. In fact, we have intensified the struggle, we are in the process of replenishing our ranks from amongst the class conscious proletarians, the advanced workers, the best sons and daughters of the working class.
Comrade Nexhinje Hoxha, director of the Institute of Marxist-Leninist Studies at the Central Committee of the Party of Labor of Albania teaches us this:
Now more than ever before, the imperialist-revisionist bourgeoisie has pinned its hopes on the means of violence and terror, diversion and armed intervention. In particular, it is using the struggle on the ideological front in order to carry out subversion of the socialist countries, through degeneration to disorientate the proletariat and the peoples, to poison their consciousness, to impede the organization and preparation of the masses for revolution, especially to attack the political and ideological staffs of the proletariat, the communist parties, and bring about their degeneration. This is nothing but the class struggle which imperialism wages from its own standpoint. (Some Fundamental Questions of Revolutionary Policy of the Party of the Labor of Albania About the Development of Class Struggle.)
The revisionists and opportunists of all hues carry out this very policy from the bourgeoisie’s standpoint inside the communist parties and organizations to degenerate the parties from within. This is why our struggle on the ideological and political fronts must be intense, on principle in defense of the purity of Marxism-Leninism, in struggle for the one Marxist-Leninist line and Program of Action from which we will develop, consistent and loyal to Marxism-Leninism the strategy and tactics of the proletarian revolution, consistent to the concrete conditions within the U.S.A., this fortress of world-wide reaction, this bastion of bestial exploitation and oppression over the overwhelming majority of the peoples of the world.
To weaken the Party from within is to strengthen this bastion of reaction. Our main fight is against right opportunism, revisionism – this is the main danger we face, here-in lies the direction of the main blow in order that we may be triumphant in smashing by force the resistance of the bourgeoisie, and carrying out to completion the proletarian revolution.
Comrade Enver Hoxha in his Report to the 7th Congress of the Party of Labor of Albania states clearly:
...the main danger and enemy to our Party and the entire international revolutionary communist and workers movement has been and still is right opportunism, revisionism. (Chapter IV, Report to 7th Congress)
Everyday bitter experiences of the international proletariat bears out the authenticity of Comrade Enver Hoxha’s summation of this experience, and the danger of right opportunism and revisionism.
The capitalist restoration in the Soviet Union, the one time strongest fortress of the international proletariat, is a bitter lesson and bears witness to the dangers of right opportunism and revisionism on an international scale. The betrayal of the “Communist” Party U.S.A., and all other proceeding betrayals by “Revolutionary Communist” Party and “Communist” Party “Marxist-Leninist” as well as the grouplets that have followed in their footsteps of treason are testimony to the deep rooted material basis of right opportunism and revisionism in the U.S.A. which holds true for all the imperialist capitalist countries internationally, it is ridiculous to judge opportunism from the standpoint of a few individuals but we must expose the leaders or revisionism and opportunism to all the masses to raise their consciousness and vigilance against such traitors.
The social basis for right opportunism and revisionism in the U.S.A. stems from the crumbs which the bourgeoisie throws out to the highly paid, highly skilled workers (the labor aristocracy) which includes the union “leaders” or union bureaucrats, and “petti-bourgeois fellow travelers”; crumbs which the bourgeoisie throws out from the superprofits which the bourgeoisie steals by robbing the colonies and neo-colonies. Comrade Lenin taught us that from this material basis, the bribes which are accepted by the labor aristocracy and their petti-bourgeois fellow travelers, the crumbs which come their way and they readily accept, in return they spread bourgeois ideological poison, corruption, chauvinism and opportunism, splits and divisions, they are agents of the bourgeoisie in the ranks of the working class, and its Party.
We live in the U.S.A., a highly developed capitalist society, in fact one of the two imperialist superpowers. Imperialism, taught us Lenin, is the highest and last stage in the development of capitalism. It is capitalism in decline and decay, it is moribund and parasitic capitalism, that’s why Comrade Lenin brilliantly summed up that we’re in the “era of imperialism the eve of the socialist revolution”, because all the objective conditions for the replacement of capitalism by socialism are set, indeed proletarian revolution is on the order of the day.
Objective conditions ripe! But what is the obstacle, the problem, the main danger, the reason why the proletariat has not seized power yet? The problem is social chauvinism, the problem is opportunism- right opportunism, revisionism, class collaboration, capitulation.
Comrade Lenin teaches us:
A privileged upper stratum of the proletariat in the imperialist countries lives partly at the expense of hundreds of millions in the uncivilised nations. (Imperialism and the Split in Socialism.)
Herein lies the economic basis of the parties of modern revisionism in the U.S.A., the social chauvinists Michael Klonsky, Bob Avakian and Co., these polished ivy league bourgeois manipulators.
Comrade Lenin further teaches us:
But we know for certain that the ’defenders of the fatherland’ in the imperialist war represent only a minority. And it is therefore our duty, if we wish to remain socialist, to go down lower and deeper, to the real masses; this is the whole meaning and the whole purport of the struggle against opportunism. By exposing the fact that the opportunists and social chauvinists are in reality betraying and selling out the interest of the masses, that they are defending the temporary privileges of a minority of the workers, that they are the vehicles of bourgeois ideas and influences, that they are really allies and agents of the bourgeoisie, we teach the masses to appreciate their true political interests, to fight for socialism and for the revolution through all the long and painful vicissitudes of imperialist wars and imperialist armistices. ibid.
With this aim we are evermore committed to carry on with the fight to build the U.S. Bolshevik Party, there is no turning back, there is no compromise, or waiting for some “future conditions”, we take to the masses this fight, we promote amongst them the Party spirit, the spirit of proletarian internationalism, bringing into the Party the class conscious workers, and openly educating the masses as to their true political interest, the fight for socialism, the ways and means by which to achieve total victory over the bourgeoisie.
The social chauvinists, the opportunists have historically accused the Leninist Core to Found the U.S. Bolshevik Party of “dogmatism”, of “sectarianism”, of “splittism”, of “adhering too strictly to Marxism-Leninism” because we would not and will not unite with opportunism, because we refused and will refuse always to compromise on principle, because we refuse to allow or compromise with the “freedom” to “criticize Marxism-Leninism”. We are guilty of strictly adhering to Marxism-Leninism, we are guilty of breaking with opportunism, of denouncing the opportunists, of purging them from our ranks, guilty of not entering into “unholy” alliances with the “Party building calls” of all the petti-bourgeois philistines in the U.S.A. In fact we criticize ourselves for not breaking sooner, for defending at one time the revisionist theory of the “three worlds” which brought us into association with the petti-bourgeois “fellow travelers” who squirmed themselves into our ranks, and uplifted themselves with lies and deception into our leading organs. Blind faith, going along with the tide, and blind following is anti-Marxist, this lesson drawn in the bitter experience of defending a bankrupt theory, which historically smacked us with flaws - unexplained alliances with those that there can be no alliance with like bourgeois comprador elements – e.g., the Shah of Iran, Pinochet, etc. Ideological and political confusion reigned which caused tremendous waverings and vacillations in the ranks, and gave the revisionists and opportunists of all hues ample territory to spread the ideological poisonous weed, demoralizing comrades of less ideological conviction, and carrying out their wrecking and splitting activities to a level unprecedented ever before in our history.
Things which were still hazy yesterday are crystal clear today. Many of the bourgeois opportunist maneuvers of all the anti-Party elements purged to date from our ranks, the broader question of the line on the international situation lies beneath it all. What we had narrowed in as a two-line struggle on Party building and scored some victories on line, program, strategy and tactics was still incomplete as long as any vestige of the revisionist theory of the “three worlds” remained, deforming the political line and program of our developing Party. We had to raise the level of struggle to weed out totally the pernicious influence of the bankrupt theory of the “three worlds”. The Seventh Party Congress of the Party of Labor of Albania, and Comrade Enver Hoxha’s report, raised our level of consciousness as to what was wrong, where we have still been failing.
We learned bitterly that the line and program of the communist party must flow from the correct appraisal of the international situation, which Comrades Lenin and Stalin clearly elucidated in such brilliant works as Imperialism the Highest Stage of Capitalism; Imperialism and the Split in Socialism; Proletarian Revolution and the Renegade Kautsky; The Collapse of the Second International; and other works by Comrade V.I. Lenin, as well as such works as Foundations of Leninism and every report to the Party Congresses on the international situation given by Comrade J. Stalin. Their authenticity is even clearer today. As defended, upheld and further enriched in its application by Comrade Enver Hoxha and the Party of Labor of Albania, the Communist Party of Brazil (Marxist-Leninist), the Communist Party of Italy (Marxist-Leninist), the Communist Party of Greece (Marxist-Leninist), the Communist Party of Spain (Marxist-Leninist), the Communist Party of Portugal (Reconstructed) and all the genuine Marxist-Leninist parties and organizations internationally.
The revisionist theory of the “three worlds” causes deviations away from the Marxist-Leninist line, away from proletarian revolution, leads to denouncing that we’re in the era of Leninism. Where upheld and in anyway defended, open propagation of social chauvinism, class collaboration of necessity flow, because the revisionist theory of the “three worlds” is in itself a social chauvinist theory, anti-Leninist, which tries to sneak in a new era, a “new internationalist economic order”. But there are two social systems, capitalism and socialism, two worlds socialist and capitalist, the old world, and the new world, not three “economic” orders, no “three” worlds.
Comrade Lenin in 1921 said this:
In the world today there exist two worlds: the old world of capitalism that is in a state of confusion but which will never surrender voluntarily, and the rising new world, which is still very weak, but which will grow, for it is invincible. (Collected Works – Vol. 33)
To eliminate the socialist world, “which is still weak, but which will grow, for it is invincible” as Comrade Lenin taught us, is to betray the international proletariat, to distort historical fact, to try and erase what can not be erased, the great historic victory borne out by the struggle of the proletariat itself through heroic valiant sacrifice and determination as was the glorious October,1917 Revolution led by Comrade V.I. Lenin, the leader of the Communist Party Soviet Union-Bolshevik, leader and teacher of the international proletariat. A theory which ignores this glorious revolutionary chapter in world history, which proved that the exploited and oppressed are not destined to live and die in destitution, is a theory which strengthens the iron claw of imperialist, social-imperialist and all reactionary tyranny over the overwhelming majority of the world’s people fighting for independence, freedom, socialism and communism.
Comrades, class conscious workers, an atmosphere of legalism prevails in the U.S.A. which strengthens this iron claw which squeezes the very blood and sweat out of our class brothers and sisters throughout the world. Under the facade of “peaceful” development of capitalism, wars of aggression, tyrannic laws, deception and corruption surrounds us everywhere.
We must fight chauvinism in our own country, we must rise in defense of the peoples of the world and aide the revolution in all countries by fighting our own bourgeoisie, fighting for socialism, for the dictatorship of the proletariat. The working class in the superpowers and all the capitalist countries has this special responsibility. In a Joint Declaration, stemming from fraternal meetings of the Communist Party of Germany (Marxist-Leninist), the Communist Party of Spain (Marxist-Leninist), the Communist Party of Greece (Marxist-Leninist), the Communist Party of Italy (Marxist-Leninist), and the Portuguese Communist Party (Reconstructed) it is declared:
The struggle of the parties and the working class in our countries has many common aspects. The yoke of capitalist slavery weighs heavily on the proletariat of our countries. For the working class and the masses of the people, who have risen in struggle there is but one road to liberate themselves from exploitation and oppression, the road of violent overthrow of capitalism through the revolution, the road of the establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat and socialism. (Joint Declaration, pg. 4)
We stand united, in a solid bond of proletarian internationalism. This May Day 1978, we extend our arms of class solidarity, and our iron-like unity based on the fight for the one Marxist-Leninist line in all countries.
Comrade Marxist-Leninists, comrade workers, farm workers, semi-proletarians, poor peasants, revolutionary youth, to the masses of people oppressed and exploited, we are faced with a critical situation, the cost of living is rising, while unemployment and wage decreases are also rising. The cost of food, rents, utilities, clothing, transportation, gasoline, oil, the most basic necessities of life is skyrocketing, while jobs are scarce and wages low, working conditions miserable. No recreation centers for the youth, no child care centers for the children, no facilities or decent income for the elderly, schools overcrowded with increased police occupation of the schools in working class and oppressed nationality communities, unemployment for youth and women at an all time high. The nationally oppressed are getting the shaft even greater and face national discrimination and brutal oppression even worse. This is the result of the miserable living conditions we are forced to endure under capitalism.<
While conditions of life worsen for the working class and toiling masses as a whole, a small leeching minority lives off the sweat, hard and honest labor of the many.
While we must do without, the capitalists live in abundance and over abundance of everything. The imperialists, social-imperialists, and all the reactionary regimes throughout the world are a minority who under the bayonet, force and violence commit acts of tyranny, rob, loot and plunder the overwhelming majority of the world’s people. On an international scale this situation has given rise to an ever sharpening class struggle which will prove triumphant for the working class and the oppressed masses in the end.
The suffering and pain inflicted on the masses of the people throughout the world has no limit, the warmongering superpowers, the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. and their allies in N.A.T.O. headed by the U.S. and the Warsaw Treaty, headed by the U.S.S.R. are once again making war preparations. All the deception and demagogery about arms disarmament is a lie. Detente is a big lie concocted by the revisionists with headquarters in Moscow and fully supported by the capitalists in the Pentagon. Both superpowers are engaged in rivalry over the redivision of the world and at the sake of millions of lives throughout the world have engaged in nuclear war preparation.
The Second World War witnessed the slaughter of masses of people throughout’ the world. Twenty-seven million heroic sons and daughters of the once almighty fortress of the international proletariat, the Soviet Union under the leadership of our beloved Comrade J. Stalin, gave their lives fighting against fascism, defending the interest of the international working class and oppressed masses and safeguarding the mighty socialist motherland. During the Second World War two more fortresses of the international proletariat were forged in struggle – the Peoples Republic of China and the Peoples Socialist Republic of Albania, and once again it was documented that the world is divided into two definitely opposing social systems, and that the national liberation wars and wars for social change are revolutionary in character and the way by which to defeat imperialism and social-imperialism on a world-wide scale.
Our responsibility today in the face of a threat of another imperialist war of aggression, reactionary in its character, is to oppose the war, and prepare to launch the all out offensive against the existing order, for the total overthrow of capitalism and by revolutionary force to establish the dictatorship of the proletariat and build socialism as the way out of this general crisis of imperialism, (which the bourgeoisie is trying on an ever increasing scale to throw on the backs of the workers and oppressed masses) as the way out of another imperialist war, as the way out of the menace of fascism.
In the U.S. the draft is being reconstituted, the volunteer army is in shambles, and in fact was a gimmick which the imperialists drew up to present itself as in peace, the fact is that at no time has the U.S. slackened up in its war preparations, in fact the increases in the military budget have systematically increased in times of “peace” and especially has risen since the U.S. aggressive war against Vietnam. The defense budget of the U.S. today is 265 billion dollars.
400,000 youth a year “volunteered” to seek “employment”, a “career”, or “training, “a chance to see the world”. At no time was the truth presented, the war preparations were hidden from the young men and women who volunteered. But lies, and deception lead to anger and rebellion, a demoralized armed forces cannot fight.
And so the draft is being reconstituted in the imperialist war preparations. We must rise and oppose with honor and dignity another imperialist war. Brothers and sisters do not be deceived by the Carter bourgeois propaganda about defending “human rights” or the defense of the world for “freedom and democracy”.
In the U.S. the ruling class like imperialism throughout the world is in trouble, in the deepest general crisis of its existence. Imperialism as a world-wide system is on a crashing decline, and it is clawing at the masses of workers and peoples throughout the world to salvage its inevitable doom at the expense of millions of lives. This is the glaring truth of the matter. The situation is favorable for the socialist revolution, the national liberation wars scoring victories. Freedom and liberation is a mighty cause and the lofty aspirations of the peace loving peoples of the world is being realized, gun in hand led by truly genuine Marxist-Leninist parties, uniting truly genuine anti-imperialist forces on a world-wide scale, repulsing by force the hegemonic designs of the two superpowers, while never relaxing the fight to overthrow “our” own bourgeoisie in every country. The neo-colonial and colonial puppet regimes are being confronted by mass uprisings and their true colors as total lackeys of imperialism and social-imperialism are coming out to the fore, the masses of workers and peasants, youth and revolutionary intellegencia are evermore uniting and exposing the lacky essence of these puppet regimes, for national and social liberation the masses are valiantly, heroically fighting. In deed the masses are the makers of history, whether in fascist dictatorship of the Marcos type in the Philippines, a colony of U.S. imperialism or the “democratic” type “common wealth” deception of an out and out colony of U.S. imperialism like Puerto Rico, or the mercenaries of the Soviet Union and Cuban mercenary troops in Angola or, Eritrea, throughout the world reaction is being confronted head on by the heroic, revolutionary uprisings of the masses of the people.
Comrade Enver Hoxha in his report to the Seventh Congress states:
Therefore, the proletariat, all those who are for revolution and socialism, must closely link their struggle against the bourgeoisie of one’s own country, by struggling against imperialism and predatory war. This is also the most effective and direct aid the proletariat can give the liberation movement of the peoples, pg. 176-177
We shall not fall behind our responsibility, in the U.S. working class, the world’s people have a true friend, the history of the working class in the U.S. is a militant history of struggle and only deception, treason and renegacy has diverted the fight for socialism and the dictatorship of the proletariat. We shall confront the traitors with the mighty iron will of our class determination to free ourselves, break the chains of wage slavery and bring down the imperialists, by so doing aide our class brothers and sisters throughout the world standing as one with the liberation movements, with the proletariat of the socialist countries, and with the proletariat and oppressed masses of the Soviet Union, and all the capitalist countries forging ever forward against our “own” bourgeoisie, against revisionism and all reaction. The U.S. proletariat and the proletariat in the Soviet Union will rise evermore and bring down by force the U.S. bourgeoisie and the new tsars no matter what we must confront, the proletariat will not follow the social chauvinists and the proletariat will be victorious in the end.
Class brothers and sisters of the Soviet Union exploited and oppressed, betrayed by the Soviet social-imperialists, this May Day, 1978 we again like always extend our hand of proletarian internationalism to you the first to rise and establish the first socialist fortress. The revisionist betrayal by the Krushchovite-Brezhnev clique and the new tsars has not in the least shaken our love and admiration for the traditions which you heroically fought and carried out in the great October, 1917, Revolution under the banner of Bolshevism, led by our beloved teachers Comrades Lenin and Stalin. We know that you will rise again in the very same traditions, guided by the teachings of Marxism-Leninism, build the Party of Lenin and Stalin who will lead the fight heroically like in the past now to overthrow the treacherous social-imperialist renegades and in good, earnest, and heroic sacrifice establish the dictatorship of the proletariat, build socialism and establish matters onto their correct course once again, towards the complete abolition of classes, for communism our final aim. Whatever time it takes, our unbounded faith in the proletariat internationally and all the peoples of the world, gives us class conscious proletarians in the U.S. the courage and determination to go forward, till final victory.
In the end the imperialists, social-imperialists, the social chauvinists, class collaborators, all the revisionists and reactionaries throughout the world will lose, they are the insignificant minority, in the end the victory belongs to the working class, to he masses, the overwhelming glorious majority!
