Lin Piao’s attempt to establish a cult of personality around Comrade Mao Tse Tung has been smashed. However, new forms of the same double dealing and fraud are arising. This dangerous new tendency is to do away with the indispensible role of outstanding individuals in history. This new tendency is aimed at the historic contributions of especially Mao Tse Tung, but in the line of fire are all the outstanding leaders of the communist movement.
This “leveling process” is supposedly aimed at the “genius theory” of history. However, in fact, this campaign is aimed at decapitating the revolutionary movement. The communist movement cannot exist without leaders. At every historic juncture we have had to defend our leaders. In order that all the world will know where we stand on this question, we submit the following resolution to our Congress.
Our Party takes special note of the singular theoretical contributions and practical political leadership of Comrade Mao Tse Tung. Comrade Mao Tse Tung has been the brilliant theoretician, masterful organizer and gigantic leader of the Communist Party of China, the proletariat and the masses in the struggle for liberation. Comrade Mao Tse Tung’s contributions have been made in the historical epoch of imperialist wars and proletarian revolution, in the epoch of Lenin. In the struggle within China and the world, Comrade Mao Tse Tung consistently upholds and defends the science of Marxism-Leninism. Hence, Comrade Mao Tse Tung has greatly enriched, deepened and expanded Marxism-Leninism.
Comrade Mao Tse Tung is the creative Marxist genius who has provided the principled leadership in the struggle against modern revisionism. His brilliant theoretical contributions have been indispensible in the struggle to regroup the Marxist-Leninists into revolutionary parties.
Therefore, in recognition of this leadership and these invaluable contributions, this Congress sends special greetings to Comrade Mao Tse Tung, conveying our comradely respect and affection, wishing him many more years of service in the great cause of the liberation of mankind.
